Become Writer
Become a Melodic Net writer
Have you always wanted to be a music writer, reviewer, and interviewer? Anyone whose niche is Modern Rock, Alternative Rock, Metal, AOR, Westcoast Pop, Pop, Pop-Punk, and close genres should apply!

Background
This site was born out of a passion. Each of our writers are passionate in what they document on this website, whether it is doing an interview or just writing a review on a short EP. The journey began as early as 1999 when the founder, Par Winberg saw strength with Internet and created the page Midwestern Skies on the domain www.melodic.net. 2001 joined Johan Wippsson who had a passion for rock, but also programming which made the page got new look and functionality. Since then the site has grown year after year with new writers and become one of the largest websites in the melodic rock.

Good to know
One good thing to know is that we do not get paid from writing. This is because all we all have regular day jobs, but most of all because it started as a hobby project, and that's the way we want it. HOWEVER, it is a very good opportunity for you to meet hit musical heroes through concerts, interviews or just simply write reviews or news. You decide what you want to contribute with and also how often. We have over the years built up a very large network, which allows us to connect with most artists. Ok, huge ones might be tricky to get hold of, but we've done interviews with Kiss, Neal Schon and several other big artists!

What we're looking for
We are looking for people who are passionate about melodic music, like us with and want to spread their knowledge. You should also be able to express yourself well in English, as this is the language of force. However, most of us doesn't have this as their main language and is therefore far from some experts in this field. You should also relatively frequently contribute something, but we have absolutely no requirements for how often and how much. This is a hobby project of writing you have the time, desire and stamina!

Did you know that?

The Cure´s original name was Easy Cure, which was taken from the name of one of the group´s early songs. The name was later shortened to The Cure because frontman Robert Smith felt the name was too American and "too hippyish".
