Hello Jonas and welcome to Melodic.net. How are you? Hey! I'm doing just fine, thank you. Could you tell us a bit about yourself? Who is Jonas Schwartz? I´m 25 years old and an ex-football player who recently released my debut album. How would you describe your own music? It's pop music with a lot of heart. The music and lyrics goes all in with well-arranged melodies. Who are your biggest influence(s)? In music I try to keep myself updated but I can always go back to artists like Tom Waits, Devendra Banhart. Film is something I get really influenced by such as Danish, Swedish and American movies. What can you tell us about your debut album "Six"? The title refers to my obsessions with numbers. The last couple of years I've been struggling quite a bit with 3, 6 and 9 for some reason. I don´t want to have anything to do with the number six and that´s why I in a cognitive way named the album "SIX". The lyrics are mostly about my obsessions and of course some love songs. Musically we just wanted it to sound as good as possible. How do your write songs? What does the creation process look like? I make all the songs with Emil Larsson and Reidar Thorsen. I often come up with an idea for a song and then we arrange it all together. The lyrics are something I write when the music is done. Is there a particular song out there that you wish you had written? Every time I hear a good song I get a little bit jealous and wish I'd wrote that. Just a couple weeks ago I had that feeling when I listened to Damien Jurado´s song "Museum Of Flight". What is it, in your opinion, you have to face as an artist trying to make it today? I'm not really good at that. I know I have to promote my music a lot more than I do but I just want to focus on making music. I´m lucky to have people around me who makes it possible for me to make music and get it spread. With that in mind, have you set any "ultimate" goals with your music career? Of course I want earn a living on it but it´s never been my goal. I want to make good music. I hate people who are in the "business" for the wrong reasons and that is something I promised myself to never become. What does the nearest future hold for you? Hopefully I will play a lot this year. And then we are going to make record number 2. Thanks for answering the questions, any final words for our readers? Thank you for reading this and hope you enjoy our record /Jonas |
