Brad Delp
Brad Delp
Back in March 1999 I did an interview with one of the greatest voices of AOR - Brad Delp. The interview was around the latest release of RTZ, but he also gave us some cool answers about his past with Boston and other cool bands... Please Welcome the man from Boston who returned to zero...Pär

Cass Dillon
Cass Dillon
Cass Dillon is 20 year old guy from New York. But he?s not like any other young man there. No, he?s a new upcoming artist working with Mitch Allan of Sr-71 and has written a handful of kickass rock songs. His music is straightforward and won?t disappoint any fan of uplifting rock! This is the beginning of his career and since melodic.net has a good taste of music, we had to contact him and ask a bunch of questions. Cass Dillon, remember his name!

D-Vines
D-Vines
Italy is not only about Pasta, the Mafia, Zucchero or their Football team who are 4 times winner of the FIFA world cup. They´ve got some great rocknroll bands too such as The Pythons, Elektradrive and D-Vines that melodic.net did an interview with.

Default
Default
Default are melodic rock survivors. The Canadian combo's past couple of years have been tough. Despite a track record of radio hits and successful albums, Default's former label, TVT Records, went belly up. The band had just recorded the finest album of their career, Comes and Goes, and weren't sure how or when they would be able to get the work out to the public. Now armed with a new label deal and a full touring schedule ahead, Default seems ready to reclaim their position as one of the world's best purveyors of anthemic rock. Comes and Goes will be arriving in stores on October 26th and to celebrate its long-awaited release, Melodic.net caught up with drummer Danny Craig and asked him about Default's new lease on life.

Depswa
Depswa
The story of Depswa goes back to the mid 90?s where the singer/guitarist Jeremy Penick was a part of a progressive instrumental trio called Carcinogen which also released a 4 song EP called "Cleansing" in 95 and the year after bassplayer Ryan Burchfield became a member of the band for another 6 song self titled EP to be made in 98,then shortly after that- the band moved from Modesto down to L.A and recruited guitarist Dan Noonan with a more vocal directed song structure and recorded the 4 song EP "Faithless" in 2000 also with the change of name to Depswa! And recently the last two members drummer Gordon Heckamann and guitarist James Mills joined forces to make the band complete just in time for the making of the full length debut ?Two angels and a dream?,it?s an absolute killer which constantly blew me away with that energy coming from a powerplant.

Depswa
Depswa
After years of struggle Depswa is finally back with the new album "Distorted American Dream" in March. We dropped a few question to Dan in the band about the album and what the heck they've been doing since their last album...

The Canadian band Dream Aria is one of few female fronted progrock bands around today, their vocalist Ann Burstyn took some time to chat about the new album "Transcend", being friends with Glenn Hughes and Tony Franklin as well as pregnancy.

Dream Theater
Dream Theater
When an interview opportunity with a band like Dream Theater show up, you do not want to pass it up. Melodic.net sent long-time Dream Theater fan Kjell-Åke Nilsson to do the honours at the bands show in Stockholm, Sweden. Here is his story: He is not known for his sheer flamboyance á la David Lee Roth, or for wearing outlandish attire like Gene Simmons, but instead for providing a consistent and recognizable voice through the years with one of the most influential bands in progressive metal. I have read things on the web (usually written in all upper-case, you get the picture...) about him being the weak spot in the band. Well, clear your throats, spot-faced teenagers with low social skills, and get ready to sing along with John Myung´s bass cascades. Go figure. While Mike Portnoy and John Petrucci may write most of the songs, somebody needs to interpret and perform the lyrics, as the main song writers tend to be kinda busy doing their thing during the gigs... And to me, this man does it well. And if his 18-year stamina as lead singer of Dream Theater does not instill respect for the man, I don´t know what will. So, for the sake of objectivity, well there is very little of that. I´m a fan. Live with it. I am about to interview him about their current Progressive Nation Tour, about the band of course, but even more so about his own approach to his role as a vocalist. The interview turned out to be more of a conversation with a soft-spoken and thoughtful man. I give you: Mr. James LaBrie!

Dredg
Dredg
It took some doing but we finally got a hold of the elusive Drew Roulette of Dredg. He took some time out from his busy schedule to answer some questions regarding the band’s new release, his artwork and overall life in Dredg.

Drowning Pool
Drowning Pool
For Texas modern rockers Drowning Pool, Full Circle, their third album, and first for Eleven Seven Music/ADA, represents a chance to continue to build on their success, with a new lead singer in old friend Ryan McCombs, a new label and new management, but the same fiery commitment to their music and one another.Bassist Stevie Benton had some time to kill for a few questions regarding DP´s future and past.

Drowning Pool
Drowning Pool
When melodic.net had a chat with Drowning Pool in August last year, we asked if the band would release another DVD soon and the answer was - Maybe someday!Well that "maybe someday" is on March 3, the new Live CD/DVD is called LOUDEST COMMON DENOMINATOR so we had to ask their singer Ryan a few more questions regarding the new release and the future.

Duke Jupiter
Duke Jupiter
Rochester, N.Y. a fine city between New York and Toronto that brought us the fine voice of Foreigner frontman Lou Gramm. It also produced one of the finest Southern Rock bands DUKE JUPITER. If you ask me, this band is still together with 38 Special and B.E. Taylor Group the best Southern AOR act to date and therefore lets pull over with our bus and pay a visite to Duke Jupiter drummer Dave CorCoran with a few questions ....

Did you know that?

The Eagles originally named "Teen King And The Emergencies," they liked the American sound of Eagles and the way it was aligned with The Byrds who had a great influence on them.
