Kip Winger Raising Funds To Record New Orchestral Album

Kip Winger has kicked off a 45-day on-line fundraising drive to record an orchestral piece intended for ballet using Kickstarter, the crowdfunding platform website. You can see the Kickstarter campaign page and video at www.kickstarter.com/projects/2055747091/c-f-kip-winger-to-record-new-ballet-at-oberlin-col

The $33,000 donation goal will be used to pay the Conservatory orchestra, conductor, and engineer to rehearse and record 'Conversations With Nijinsky', Winger's follow-up to his composition "Ghosts" for Christopher Wheeldon at the San Francisco Ballet. Taking place over a two-day period in January 2012, the rehearsals and recording will also be shot for a future documentary film.

Did you know that?

Anberlin band member Stephen Christian has offered the explanations that he planned naming his first daughter Anberlin and that the name was a modification of the phrase "and Berlin" from a list of cities Christian wanted to visit. The one story that Christian asserts is true, however, is that he heard the word in the background noise of the Radiohead song "Everything in Its Right Place".
