Deep Elm Records Signs Lights & Motion From Gothenburg, Sweden

Deep Elm Records has signed cinematic post-rock powerhouse LIGHTS & MOTION from Gothenburg, Sweden. Deep Elm will release the stunning 13 track instrumental debut Reanimation worldwide on January 16, 2013.
LIGHTS & MOTION's braintrust is 24 year old, self-taught multi-instrumentalist, producer, recording engineer, mixer and all around musical savant Christoffer Franzen. All of the songs on the album were created and composed in real-time during late night insomniac sessions by pure accident, improvisation and inspiration. One media outlet describes LIGHTS & MOTION as "the brand new Sigur Ros-EITS-Coldplay-cinematic soundtrack-mash-up that brings a fresh breeze into a otherwise linear and narrow genre."

"When I signed with Deep Elm, I had several other contracts in front of me from various publishers and labels. What sets Deep Elm apart from all the others is how they approach the music...with a full-on dedication and genuine love for it. I am very proud of how Reanimation turned out and I cant wait to get it out there. Deep Elm has been a crucial part in making this all happen" says Christoffer Franzen.

"We are well aware that Christoffer had many options for labels and we are delighted he chose to work with Deep Elm. From the minute I heard the opening notes of 'Home' I was blown away. And the finished album is more than we could have ever hoped for. Every song is definitely epic and so massively majestic, resulting in a timeless album that is seemingly made from the stuff of dreams. It's hard to believe that Christoffer is just getting started. Reanimation is undoubtedly one of the best and most important cinematic post-rock records ever to be released" says label founder John Szuch. Through Deep Elm's TV & Film Licensing department, music from LIGHTS & MOTION has already been featured in projects for NBC, Phillips 66, TED and The Smithsonian.
