The Dear Hunter Perform "Home" Live, The Color Spectrum Live Dvd Available March 12th

On the night of May 9, 2012 The Dear Hunter took to the stage of the sold out Somerville Theater just outside of Boston for a special one-time event, the performance of The Color Spectrum in its entirety.  Over 3 hours of music with special guests Andy Hull (Manchester Orchestra), The Boston String Party and more. The night was filmed and will be released in pristine high definition and presented in digital 5.1 surround sound on March 12. Now fans everywhere will have a chance to relive this special evening.

The Color Spectrum consists of 36 songs inspired by the colors of the spectrum, each color being its own EP specifically Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violetwith White and Black as bookends. It was written and recorded as Crescenzo traveled across the U.S., documenting every step of the process as he worked with several producers and musicians along the way, including Manchester Orchestra, Brendan Brown from The Receiving End of Sirens, Mike Watts (who has worked with As Tall As Lions and he mixed the band’s Act III: Life And Death), and Steve Haigler (Brand New, As Tall As Lions, Quicksand).

The epic, 9-EP project The Color Spectrum claimed two separate spots on Billboard’s “Heatseekers” chart upon its debut, with the complete collection reaching an impressive #9, and the 11-song CD version (featuring select music from each EP) debuting at #32SPIN calls it “a sprawling, heady mix, merging some of the challenging piano work of latter day Ben Folds Five with a bit of Muse-y, glam rock melodrama.”
