CHARMING LIARS KICK OFF PROMISING 2017 CAMPAIGN WITH ELTON JOHN’S PRAISES
Rising Los Angeles alt/pop group Charming Liars have kicked off a promising 2017 campaign on the radar of music royalty. Sir Elton John, having sung the band’s praises for a while now, recently added the band’s track “Wild” to his curated Spotify playlist “Elton John: Loves.” The playlist features fellow stars Ed Sheeran and indie-pop favorites The xx. In addition, “Wild” will be featured in an upcoming episode of “The Rocket Hour” podcast, Sir Elton’s Beats 1 radio show.
2016 saw the band’s current single “Soul” gain traction over the alternative and rock airwaves, but the year also brought the song’s television debut. The band’s signature track was featured on an episode of the acclaimed TV Land American comedy, Younger back in November.
Both “Soul” and “Wild” are featured on the critically lauded 12:31AM record. Anthem Review called the record “Built to impress,” while Circles and Soundwaves called it “reinvigorating” and “anthemic.” Fans can purchase the record on iTunes now.
The band have also announced their first show of the year, a gig at the legendary local Troubadour, a venue familiar with the band’s packed shows and devoted Los Angeles following. Tickets available here.
