"Hired Gun" doc trailer revealed - coming to U.S. theaters for one night only June 29.
Vision Films has partnered with leading event cinema distributor Fathom Events to bring rock documentary “Hired Gun: Out of the Shadows, Into the Spotlight”to U.S. movie theaters this summer, with an exclusive one-night theatrical event on June 29, 2017, with a special Q&A and other exciting added materials.
The feature-length documentary, which has been screened to both critic and audience acclaim at SXSW Festival, Glastonbury Festival, MIFF, Calgary International and Noise Pop, introduces music fans to some of the world’s unsung heroes of the music industry through exclusive interviews and performances. These artists have played with musical legends such as Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie, Billy Joel, P!NK, Ozzy Osbourne, Michael Jackson, Metallica, Bon Jovi and many more.
“Hired Gun”is the story of the musical talent responsible for the most famous instrumental solos in the world, who have toured with the musical legends who hired them. The hired gun community lives and breathes music, and, for the first time, its members share their incredible stories and exclusive musical performances with the world in this inspiring new documentary.
“Hired Gun” was filmed in stunning 4K, sound mixed at Skywalker Ranch by Emmy Award-winning mixer Scott R. Lewis, and contains original music and live performances by the ‘hired guns’ which was recorded at the legendary East West Studios and mixed by Grammy-nominated producer Johnny K. The original score for the film was composed by The Crystal Method.
Tickets for “Hired Gun” can be purchased beginning Wednesday, May 24, by visiting fathomevents.com/events/hired-gun or at participating theater box offices. That Club 27 is a term that refers to a number of popular musicians that died at the age of 27 like Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Brian Jones, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse and Gary Thain (Uriah Heep).
