With its third studio album and Warner Bros. debut, "Louder Now," fast approaching, Taking Back Sunday has confirmed a slate of spring U.S. tour dates. Presented by House of Blues and sponsored by Hot Topic, the run find the band playing clubs and theaters, beginning March 31 at the Boulder (Col.) Theatre. Dates stretch into early-May, ending with and appearance at New Jersey?s Great Bamboozle Festival.
"It?s really exciting to go out and play our new songs in smaller venues," bassist Matt Rubano says. "We just played some shows in England and the response was intense. Our last tour in the U.S. was incredible. We couldn?t believe we were playing in arenas. As exciting as that was, we are just as excited to start off in a more intimate environment to kick off ?Louder Now.?"
As previously reported, the album was produced by Eric Valentine (Queens Of The Stone Age, Good Charlotte). It will be the follow-up to 2004?s "Where You Want To Be," which debuted at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 and has sold more than 700,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Prior to the U.S. dates, Taking Back Sunday will head to Australia for a handful of dates in March. In the midst of the U.S. run, the band will take a brief sojourn to the U.K. to play the Give It a Name Festival in Manchester (April 29) and London (April 30).
Pre-sale tickets for U.S. shows go on sale Tuesday (Feb. 22) through the band?s official Web site, followed Feb. 24 with a House of Blues member pre-sale through hob.com. Public ticket sales begin Feb. 25 via Ticketmaster.
