Taking Back Sunday
Submitted by Johan Wippsson on 2006-06-28
Chaos Will Reign Again In 2006

The surprise international touring sensation of 2005 will return with an extra tasty lineup for 2006. The International Rockstar Taste Of Chaos 2006 tour is the only Worldwide Lifestyle Music Tour. The event combines great musical artists with lifestyle concourse activities. This year the international tour will be playing in 12 countries. The 2006 International tour has attracted a stellar lineup of Taking Back Sunday, Thursday, Anti-Flag, Underoath, Senses Fail, Alexisisonfire, Saosin and many more.

As with last year?s tour the smaller local stage will be reinstated to showcase the talents of local acts in front of thousands of fans.

In 2005 the inaugural international indoor music festival was a runaway success with Taste of Chaos shows in Australia, Japan, UK and Germany attracting in excess of 100,000 fans. In response to the demand we have added 8 additional countries this year.

Devised by Kevin Lyman (Founder of the Vans Warped Tour), John Reese, President of Freeze Artist Management and Darryl Eaton of Creative Artist Agency, Taste Of Chaos was developed to cater to a largely ignored legion of young fans with non-mainstream musical tastes and give fans six hours of varied entertainment for an affordable ticket price. "The demand from fans all over the World has been overwhelming. We are excited to expand to more countries and bring fans a great show." states John Reese

The International Rockstar Taste Of Chaos 2006 will see the continuation of Rockstar Energy Drink?s naming rights association of this year?s United States and Canada Taste Of Chaos tour. The company makes its first foray into International markets with this tour.

The tour will be presented by HURLEY (One of the World?s premier lifestyle apparel makers) while Ernie Ball and PETA will continue their on-going relationship with the event.

Partnerships from 2005 will continue this year with Triple J, Channel [V], and Bombshellzine all committing to the Australian leg of the tour. Also on board, for the first time, are Blunt Magazine and Myspace Australia. In New Zealand Groove Guide and C4 TV will join the fold. Kerrang will be involved in the UK version of the tour. Additional sponsors will be announced soon.

External to the main arena areas, each Rockstar Taste Of Chaos show will feature a selection of kiosks which offer gaming, artist signings, prizes, product participation and displays and promotions ensuring Rockstar Taste Of Chaos becomes an event, not just another concert.

Early this year Taking Back Sunday sold out their Australian shows in just five minutes. Adam Lazzara, Fred Mascherino, Mark O?Connell, Eddie Reyes and Matt Rubano combine the best elements of punk, rock, emo and pop. As Inpress said "when TBS play, their music commands attention." Fans have been anticipating their return since their departure, so their inclusion on the TOC bill will be a welcome one! Their latest album debuted at #2 on the US Billboard Top 200

Back in 2003 Thursday were riding the crest of stardom, selling over 400,000 of War All The Time. Appearing on the covers of numerous magazines and touring with The Cure seemed to be the perfect recipe for success but by mid 2005 Thursday had vanished from sight, exhausted by their hectic schedule. Rumours that the group were breaking up abounded to the devastation of their many fans.

However in 2006 the band have returned stronger than ever with a new album and a new vision. An appearance on TOC 2006 will be much anticipated by both old and new fans.

Tom Morello of RATM and Audioslave had these exact words of praise for the band: "Anti-Flag are the most important emerging band in America. Uncompromising, ferocious, and absolutely right. In desperate times like these, the world needs a band like Anti-Flag to set shit straight."

One of the most politically active bands in America at present, Anti-Flag joined the ?Rock Against Bush Tour? and helped to register more than 10,000 US voters on the 2004 Vans Warped Tour. Since the 2004 election debacle Anti-Flag have found a home with a major label to voice their discontent in the form of their latest offering For Blood and Empire.

Underoath?s breakthrough album They?re Only Chasing Safety sold an impressive 500,000 albums upon release. 2006?s much anticipated release of Define The Great Line promises even greater success.

"We went into the studio wanting to make this record count," says guitarist Tim McTague. "We wanted to make it life-changing for the people who heard it. We knew it had the potential to do well, but we weren?t basing our future on that. We feel we?ve written the best album that any of us will probably ever be a part of and above all else, we?re super proud of it."

Senses Fail released their debut EP in 2002 to critical acclaim. Quickly courted by the major labels, they signed a deal and released their first major album Let It Enfold You in 2005. The in between years were filled with countless tour dates that earned the band a devoted following. The band have just recently finished recording their next offering and are tipping a release date just in time for their Australian TOC dates!

California lads Saosin may currently be in the thick of this year?s Vans Warped Tour but 2006 promises to be even bigger for the band. With the upcoming release of their major label debut album and a visit to the World on the Taste Of Chaos tour, Saosin are likely to become one of the most mispronounced bands of the year. Recently signed to Capitol Records an album is to be released this fall.
