Artist discography

Overtures are a melodic heavy metal band born in Gorizia in June 2003.
The line-up is composed by Michele Guaitoli on vocals, Marco Falanga on guitar, Luka Klanjscek on bass and Andrea Cum on drums.
The new album "Artifacts" will be released 27/05 this year and what we get here is an album full of great melodies, instrumentation and an awesome blend of styles.
I would say that the album is a mix of heavy metal/hard/prog rock and power metal and reminds me of Symphony X, Kamelot, Circus Maximus and Dream Theater.
It sounds modern and unique and this is a great album that can only be described as a fresh breath of air into the current music industry.
Sure there are other progressive metal bands out there but Overtures not only does bring in a symphonic quality to their work, but all the band members use the utmost of their skill in each and every song.
Michele Guaitoli is a great vocalist and reminds me of both Geoff Tate and Roy Khan and as for the rest of the band members themselves; not much can be said except for absolutely brilliant.
The production and mixing really come across like a well finished product instead of being over polished and the flowing and transition between heavy riffs, leads, and melodic passages in the album is working perfect.
The balance and the variation in all the songs makes that you most likely will listen to them many times.
My favorite songs on "Artifacts" are "Repentance", the title song "Artifacts" and "Unshared worlds" and to be honest, I don't really dislike anything about this album.
These guys are now probably among my favourite metal/prog bands of today and absolutely worth checking out!

Did you know that?

Original Days of the New members Todd Whitener, Matt Taul, and Jesse Vest were fired from the band but would go on to form the band Tantric, while Meeks formed a new band under the Days of the New name.
