Stray Train from Slovenia came together early 2015 as a group of musicians who just wanted to play coversongs in small clubs to stay in shape.
So they started jamming together, never to realize they had gold within their hands.
December the same year they went to Amsterdam, a city that never sleeps to record their first album.
The band describes their music as honest heavy blues rock.
The album starts of with Soulseller, which grabbed me instantly being an ergergetic, grooving song that gets under your skin.
I Wish I Could Be Free gives us a Jimmy Hendrix kind of intro, great guitarwork, the band sounds enthousiastic.
Its follower Wander Man takes us dow a Lenny Kravitz meets RHCPkind of sound, with of course very different great vocals. Love the slightly distrorted bleusy guitarsolo.
A nice catchy guitarriff leads us into the mid tempo Green Card Paradise, with the band sounding prety tight.
Blow gives us a bluesy feel flying around an again Lenny Kravitz kind of rythm.
Plastic Princess princess sounds somewhat different, it a bit moody with great pedal guitars.
The song that really could become a single is the very catchy Dead Romance. A song that has a great vibe, strong vocals and background vocals. Once it enters your ears it will be living in your mind forever.
Man Or Stone is a nice alternative rocksong that is just good.
The show sopper here is Can't Buy Happiness (which is true off course. A song that has a total different feel than the other songs, a very moody hounting sound with vocals that reminds me of old Faith No More. A fantastic way to end this strong debut album.
There is only one thing wrong with this album.
The title is way to long!
