Review

Vanaprasta's debut "Healthy Geometry " may be one of the year's best albums and came like a flash from a clear sky to me. It is not entirely wrong to say that it is the album Kings Of Leon wanted to do after the phenomenal "Only by the Night" since the bands have some musical similarities. The singer “Steven Wilkin” has been a vocal style like “Nathan Followill” of KOL and bands offers a large portion of soul rock immersed in a neat indie package. However Vanaprastra is even more intresting actually since they have not chosen to be as commercial and radio friendly as Kings Of Leon. "Healthy Geometry" is a fairly complex album with progressive elements, almost psychedelic at times, which make you constantly find new nuances and elements in the songs all teh time. Just listen to the phenomenal "Come On", "Nine Equal Nine" and "Minnesota" and you will understand what I mean by saying that Vanaprasta is not just another good sounding band. No, this is just too good to be unsigned and cannot see anything else that these Los Angeles-based guys will have a major label contract in their hands in 2012. Anything else would be a crime!
