Review

“Sounds From The Hollow” is a fine first taste from the Modern Rock act Cavo and their upcoming album "Thick as Thieves". Have always liked their straightforward and uncomplicated style and especially their major debut "Bright Nights Dark Days", produced by David Bendeth. Unfortunately, they did not stay that long on Reprise as so many other bands, but fortunately they are now picked up by Eleven Seven Music, which I think is an even better home for the band.

This Ep is a hint of the coming 2012 and actually I think the band feels even more exciting than before. The first single "Thick As Thieves" is truly brilliant, where the band put on some extra edge, but also some cool harmonies. Subsequent "Live Without It" follows the same cool arena format and is actually not on the full-length album, which makes this an extra interesting Ep. The same applies to the softer "Identity" where the band doesn’t have the same high level, but still shows that the band is good at delivering bonus content. So if you’ll ask me, really watch out for Cavo 2012 since I think that their upcoming album will be something extra!

Did you know that?

Before drumming in Glasvegas, Caroline McKay had never played the instrument before – she had been working in a clothing store when James Allan met her.
