It has taken the brothers Followill three albums to come up to the level you expect. Their breakthrough record Only By The Night was really phenomenal and plenty of others agrees as the band have sold more than 6 million copies of it, world-wide. The sequels Come Around Sundown and Mechanical Bull was not in the same class and was relatively uneven stories with few traces in the same class as OBTN. WALLS, however, feels very hungry and offers a cavalcade of high-quality alternative indie rock, ready for the major arenas. This time Kings of Leon delivers a very even album, also filled a handful of tracks of the highest class that could have been on OBTN. Is thinking of the first single "Waste a Moment" which is insanely good, even if it has clear similarities to the monster hit, "Sex on Fire". Also prefers the calmer "Conversation Piece" and "Walls" that is on the same level with their incredibly beautiful and emotional melodies.
WALLS should have come out after the breakthrough record as it guaranteed that it would have been another hit for the band. Unfortunately, they have now lost a bit of their stardom so I don’t think will be a great success, even it’s the second best record that the band has delivered.
