Review

Machines, machines, Michael loves machines. What a classic song from City Boy on their 1979 album "The day the earth caught fire" but it also suits composer Michael Hensley´s new EP "Heart mechanical" because it´s filled with sequencers, loops, vocoder and other programmed computerized sounds. I did enjoy his 2007 album "Fire behind me" which was more of an 80´s synthpop affair compared to his new EP that can be described as techno flavored electronic pop in the same vein as Moby, Air and Pet Shop Boys. The tracks "You dont own me" and "Heart mechanical" are quite good but the rest dont move me at all.

Tracklisting 1. Life is a Disco
2. We're Here to Recruit Your Kids
3. You Don't Own Me
4. Heart Mechanical
5. Inside
6. This Love is Not Enough
7. Dreams
