Smile Empty Soul actually sold all 500,000 copies of their debut. A solid album with clear Nirvana influences, though in a more radio-oriented format. After that their label Lava dropped the band, just before album two "Anxiety" would come out, which of course was a huge disappointment. But the band has being floating around since then and delivered four albums, including this new album titled 3's.
The advantage of the band is that you can really trust what you get as they have delivered on all albums. However, think that they repeat themselves every time and it’s difficult to hear any difference between the various releases to be honest. 3's is no different, and sounds very Smile Empty Soul with a plenty of anger and disappointment, but in a radio friendly format. With good tracks as "Carve", "Ugly" and "Hiding Place." fans will appreciate it for sure; hope personally I really hopes that the band tries some new ideas for their next release.
