Sweden's best rock bands right now in my opinion the Stockholm based band Straight Frank. With a style close to Foo Fighters meets Audioslave, they have both a classic and hard-hitting rock style, but also new and fresh ideas. Their debut album released on the Sony this year is a wet dream for all rock love and will be high on my list of 2012's best albums for sure.
And of course they're a great band live, which also could be witnessed when they opened for retro rockers Rival Sons at Debaser Medis here in Stockholm on April 3rd 2012. We had a short gig this time with six tracks, but every single second was a blast and they really had a great evening. Is really impressed by their professionalism and cool presence on stage even if they have just played with each other for a couple of years. Saw them as early as 2009 at a small club here in Stockholm and really liked what I heard. But today they've taken their music a step further and is a complete band ready to rock the world. So if you have the chance to see them live, do it, classic rock does not get much better than this!
Aunsley Dunbar (Whitesnake, Journey) auditioned for Kiss when Eric Carr got sick during the Revenge sessions but it didn“t work out and Eric Singer got the job instead.
