Review

While waiting for a new album with the amazing artist Cary Brothers we now got this new Ep  called "Covers Volume One". Really love his last two studio albums "Who You Are" (2007) and "Under Control" (2010), which offer the best of the more emotional and atmospheric side of the rock industry. There is a presence and feeling in their music that few bands come close.
This five track Ep with interpretations of the artists like Duran DuranYeah Yeah YeahsINXSDavid Bowie, and Matt & Kim is a bit surprising with a bit of a new sound. "Ordinary World" and "Maps" sounds like the Cary Brothers, we are familiar with a lot of heart and pain in a very easy pace. "Never Tear US. Apart" and "Absolute Beginners" then shows up a relatively new side with a edgier sound that smells British rock like OasisVerve, but in a U.S. format similar to The Shore. An exciting development of his sound, which, I however think feels more unique when he’s more emotional and sentimental. Which way he picks on the upcoming album remains to be seen, but it will be really good either way

Tracklisting 1. Never Tear Us Apart
2. Maps (feat. Priscilla Ahn)
3. Absolute Beginners (feat. Butterfly Boucher)
4. Lessons Learned (feat. Rachael Yamagata)
5. Ordinary World
