Danny Worsnop does not have to be ashamed of his past merits as he during his period of Metalcore band Asking Alexandria achieved great success. Even during his temporary departure from the band the Alt Rock acts We Are Harlot was a musical bomb with its strong and big sounding arena style.
However, this is a record that I question if it was necessary to release to be honest. Ironically, he has said that the reason why he left the UK band was because he felt they lost their artistic integrity. Then he left to Nashville to record a clean country album, which really sounds like some artistic from a British artist, right? Have full respect that he wanted to record a personal album and that he is a big fan of country, but this just sounds wrong and artificial.
Ok, there are a couple of nice tracks like the more alternative "Anyone but Me" and "Quit a While", but when he delivers honky-tonk tracks like "I Feel Like Shit" and "Do not Overdrink", I feel really ashamed.
No, this feels like a tremendous slant and is really glad he is now back in Asking Alexandria for more aggressive and magnificent metal, where he really delivers. Avoid!
