Sparzanza are one of my favorite rock/metal bands from Sweden. They have always brought us quality albums with their trademark sound, a bit dirtier than the well produced sound of some of their peers. From the first listening I feel that this is less polished that Foile a Cinq from 2010. It also feel a bit more stripped down compared to the previous album. First single The Fallen Ones have been getting some heavy airplay here in Sweden and that is a very nice song.
There are many songs that carry that trademark Sparzanza sound and I cannot stop myself from liking this. Although there have been modifications to the sound here and there throughout the back catalogue there is still that sound that tells me that what I am listening to is a Sparzanza song. I can easily listen to this in one sitting without getting bored or skip any tracks. Other highlights are The Enemy, with such a killer riff, and Legion, one of the heaviest song with the most screaming.
I must admit that the songs on here are a bit weaker than on, say, In Voodoo Veritas. Only by a small fraction but I hold that album as better than this. However, Sparzanza is still one of the best and most consistent bands out there and this is a very solid album. If you liked what they have done before there is no reason not to get this album. One of the safest buys this year. They are still waving the Swedish flag high in the metal world. This album drops September 29th, get it as soon as you can. You will not regret it.
