Review

There are not many bands that mixes '80s glam rock with 90’s grunge rock. Black Oxygen is one of them and when listening to their debut "The American Dream" is like traveling between the Sunset Strip and Seattle in around 50 minutes. There are clear similarities with bands like Puddle Of Mudd and Smile Empty Soul, but there are traces of bands like Dokken and Tesla so they have found an exciting mix here.
The Last Vegas and Charm City Devils are two other bands with similar style, although they have clearly apparent sleaze influences. And must say that all three of these bands suffer some of the same problems. They have all the cool styles, but the song material is not quite strong enough to fill a complete album. Now I think that "The American Dream" is a cool album, but if they want reach higher in their career, among bands like Hinder and Buckcherry they must write sharper and stronger song material.
However, a cool album that said and worth checking up on if you like Modern Rock with a great sense of attitude!
Highlights: "Take It To The Limit", "Escape The Pain," "The American Dream", “Tonight
