Review

Hinder is one of them bands that I think can take the Arena rock on when the old guard drops off. Really liked their debut Extreme Behavior and especially album number two, Take It to the Limit where they really got the sound and the songs in a perfect way. Think then that the band failed to get the level I hoped for and they have not succeeded very well on the charts after that to be honest.
Their new album, Welcome to the Freakshow will not save them when it is clearly their worst so far. Think especially the production is below all criticism when it’s way too digital for their classic rock sound. The dynamic is blown away as both the guitar and the drum sound is way too flat and superficial. Ok, there are a few good songs in "Should Have Known Better" and "Talk to Me", but in overall,  Welcome to the Freakshow a very mediocre record that I can believe will be the last band on the Republic Records.

Did you know that?

The name City and Colour comes from his own name: The city Dallas and The Color Green. His reasoning for the name was that he felt uneasy "putting the album out under the name Dallas Green."
