Review

Monster Truck from Hamilton in Canada has been really hyped the last year. With their classic 70s-inspired rock like Led Zeppelin and Lynard Skynard they feels like one of 2013's most exciting bands with this debut, “Furiosity”.
There are of course similarities with acts like Rival Sons, Shinedown and Black Stone Cherry in their sound, but one can also find some Stoner rock like Queens Of The Stone Age here and there. And even if they do not feel especially groundbreaking, I think that Monster Truck have found something cool here. Part of this is due to front man Joe Harvey's powerful and very fitting voice that is a definite asset to the band. In tracks like "Old Train" and "Power Of The People" you can hear this clearly as he uses his voice to the fullest.
Personally I think it’s maybe a bit to even as it lack of tracks that stand out. But it’s overall a record to check out clearly if you like classic hard rock in a modern format.
