Its Like You Never Went Away is the 2nd EP from Goldroom.

With hip California life like vibes you can't help but be swept into the emotions of how its like for those to be young these days. Don't you just wish you could go back in time to relive your teen years? I think at some point we all reach a moment of reflection and this 4 song EP got me in my feels.

'Embrace' is exactly what you would think its about, embracing things for what they are and just welcoming in the summer sun. The music video for this track is set in a high school where 2 boys (considered the underdogs of their class) catch the attention of 2 popular girls. With things not working out well for the girls and their jock boyfriends the future for all is left unknown by the summer bell release.

'California Rain' picks right up where we left off. With several end of the school year parties up in the air (one thrown by the jocks and another the underdogs) the girls make their move, going with the wall flowers. As the night goes on and everybody seems to be having a good time the fuzz ends up crashing the party. The teens haul major butt which is where things leave us on a cliff hanger.

'Tradewinds' is more electronic than indie pop I'd say. The music video for this night life upbeat tune shows the teens post party driving around town and letting loose. Its almost as if they have no worries in the world because they are together and having fun. Certainly the winds have shifted in the favor of all.

'Fifteen' is a song I feel really captures the spirit of ones youth and innocence. Okay maybe a little of the mischief side too but I think it adds a nice touch to things. Its a smooth sailing track I would say leans more towards pop than indie. The music video tells the story well as the teens hot wire and set sail aboard a ship off into the summer sun with no destination in mind.

Overall I'd have to say Its Like You Never Went Away isn't that bad. It really got me to thinking about my high school years and how we all long for a journey into the unknown. You are never too young or too old to have fun yet alone find love.
