DREAMCAR deserves to be called a real super-group. Members are noneless than Davey Havok (AFI, Blakq Audio) along with No Doubt members Tony Kanal, Tom Dumont and Adrian Young. A rather unexpected line-up, but considering to the current No Doubt hiatus, one could guess that there would be some kind of new project out from the ashes of that band.
Musically, I also think that superlatives are the best way to describe the band as their 80's New Wave is really compelling and appealing. Perhaps they sound a bit too retro like an updated version of Duran Duran, Tears for Fears and The Cars. But with songs like "After I Confessed", "Kill for Candy" and "All of The Dead Girls" they show that they belong to the top of the latest wave of 80's smelling pop.
What makes the album extra nice is that it keeps a really high level from start to end. Sure, all of the tracks are not as strong as the highlights, but all is more or less close that makes this record is a real pop gem in 2017.
