Swedish rockers Art Nation returns with a brand new album after the fantastic debut album Revolution (2015). This is an album I been waiting for and have had huge expectations for. On Liberation the band has gone more towards a modern and tougher sounding album, but without losing the fantastic melodies and hooklines that we could hear on the debut album. This new album sounds huge and the production is first class and the arrangements are nothing but stunning. Singer Alexander Strandell sings better than ever with amazing power and feeling. Alexander must be one Sweden´s best rock singers at the moment. So if your hoping to hear pure AOR on this album you will be surprised a bit because they have turned up the heat a bit more and like their countrymen in H.E.A.T going for a rockier sound. I think this is the right move for the band and they deliver a fantastic mixture melodic rock and tougher AOR with a modern twist. Just listen to the huge opening track Ghost Town. This is a perfect opener with crunchy guitars with powerful sound and the chorus is absolutley stunning, a song that will hook you up right away. One of this years best rockers so far. I love it. Maniac is another cracker with layers of melodies and hooks all the way, the chorus powerful and catchy. The Real Me is filled with riffantastic guitars and the sing-a-long chrous is awesome with nice keyboardwork in the background. Did I say that this song is HUGE. The powerballad When Stars Align is nothing but a winner with wonderful melodies and the chorus powerful with stunning vocals from Alexander. Another personal favourite is the brilliant A 1000 Charaders with superb melodic riffs and the chorus very AORish is pure magic with catchy hooks and great keyboards. This is a real gem. Take Me Home is a lovely ballad that has radio written over it and the strings lifts up it even more. Paralyzed knocks you down with the heavy riffs and the chorus is superb. Last song on the album What Do You Want is maybe the closest song reminding of the debut album. A great rocker with AORish keyboards and the chorus is very AOR with strong harmonies. The Japanes version of this album contains a bonus track called Walk My Own Way. It´s a monster AOR-song with stunning melodies and a catchy chours. Worth the extra money to buy the Japanes version. There´s not a singel weak moment on this album, everything is done with pure class. It don´t get much better than this and I hope this album will open new doors for this awesome band. Could be the album of the year???
