Metalcore is definitely not as popular as it used to be... We all know the recipe... A huge sounding bombastic production with fat guitars, drums in various tempos during the song, growl-vocals that often ends up in a melodic refrain sung by another vocalist. And that's where we have Wage War's music as well. So nothing new under the sun? Nope. Zip. Nada. So is it a good album in the genre? I would say it is. The songwriting is solid as a rock and the performance is impressive and add a production that is fat as peanutbutter and you have an album that gives you all you need if you're into the genre. Nothing new at all but what the heck that is not what the band expect you to hear. They expect you to hear an album filled with high class modern Metalcore and that is what you get. Best songs? Well - the hitsingle "Stitch" is one but the most outstanding track on the album is "Gravity" which is absolutely fabulous tune and worth 5 stars. A long time since I heard such a good tune in the genre.
