Review

The label Inside out music releases mostly progressive rock so when they
wrote about this new band called Event at their website that mixes progressive rock with
modern rock,I thought it sounded like a real interesting band.

And they are good.

Hearing Event?s debut ?Scratching the surface? is like hearing Audioslave
riffrock mixed up with Queensryche progressive tendencies or why not King Crimson
in a hard rock way(they are both just as strange),Event has better
songs than Audioslave and a more modern rock feeling in their music than
Queensryche but a track like ?One simple fall? could very well be written
by Geoff Tate and Co!

The album doesn?t stick in your head the first time you hear it because
Event has an odd sound and do not write ?hitrefrains?,the production is cool
with loops, sequencers, distorted bass and lovely guitars(it always seems
to happen something in each and every song,a great record to listen to
with headphones to to speak).
I can understand those who have a hard time liking Event but for me,they are so
much more fun to listen to then a 100 other ordinary rock bands.
