Review

”Infra” by Mercury Sky is the band's second musical output, following on from the success of their debut self-titled EP released in 2014.

The Sydney, Australia based quintet takes the listener into a soundscape of progressive alternative rock for fans of Coheed and Cambria, Dead Letter Circus and Opia.

The band is Kay Thatch – Vocals, Keiren Lovett – Guitar, Cameron Davies – Guitar, Tom Bergman – Bass and Keiran Berry – Drums and they are truly great musicians. I especially dig Kay´s high pitch vocals and the wonderful songs ”No true Scotsman” and ”PreCious”.

This EP is one of those that takes more than a few spins to get into, I discover new things all the time and get new favorites each time too. It´s just a pity that I think the production feels a bit too sharp. I would prefer a warmer sound but ”Infra” is without doubt a good EP.
