Review

David Cook could get away with just about anything with his great voice, from singing the American songbook to fronting a hard rock band. But it gets painful when he decided to go the same route everyone else is taking, David has now left the modern rock/pop sound behind him and dress up in a whole new costume on the EP "Chromance".
I remember when Chris Cornell teamed up with producer Timbaland to make the much hated electronic dance pop album "Scream" in 2009, a decade later it´s the most normal direction for rock bands and artists to head in.
David Cook is no exception, he wants his songs to get airplay right next to Nicki Minaj and Ed Sheeran. Mainstream radio hardly ever play any rock music these days so don´t bother looking for guitars on "Chromance".
This is a pop album packaged and produced for streaming services where the chorus comes faster than you can respond to a text message on Messenger.
No, this EP falls under the category "here today, gone tomorrow". If it wasn´t for David Cook´s wonderful vocal performance, I´d give this EP a 1 star rating.
