Review

Mindfeels is a new interesting AOR/Westcoast band from Italy that has released a damn fine debut album. This 4-piece band delivers a soft AOR album with lots of Westcoast influences and you can hear their love for TOTO on this album. Yes, the TOTO sound can be heard clear here and there but I must say that these guys also sounds very close to the Finnish AORsters Urban Tale and that´s not a bad thing. Mixed that with a spoon of Street Talk you get the idea how these guys sound like. Singer Davide Gilardino sings outstanding and reminds a lot of Kimmo Blom (Urban Tale). The album contains 11 tracks and the quality is very good throughout the whole album. The ones that stands out little more is the great opening track Don´t Leave Me Behind with strong melodies and is TOTO all the way. Soul Has Gone Away is another nice mid-tempo rocker with strong arrangements. The ballad Skyline has wonderful melodies and could have been on TOTO´s Mindfields album.

Another positive thing on this album is the crystal clear production, the sound on this album is just brilliant. So this is an album you should check out while you wait for a new TOTO album or if you miss the great Urban Tale. I strongly recommend this album for soft AOR/Westcoast lovers.
