Amaranthe has become the same machine as AC/DC, why change something that is working seems to be their motto. Album no.5 "Helix" is just like the others, produced by Jacob Hansen and the sound is familiar - melodic deathmetal, pop choruses and electronica so you know the story. The only thing different this time is the band´s new male clean vocalist Nils Molin from Dynazty who replaced Jake E. (now in CyHra), Nils fits like a glove in the line-up but Elize Ryd is still the star of the band. Her vocals shine in most songs on "Helix" where the highlights are "365", "Countdown", "Dream" and "Breakthrough Starshot". Amaranthe´s 3rd vocalist Henrik Englund is without doubt in the top league of Swedish growlers along with Björn Speed Strid (Soilwork) and Anders Fridén (In Flames). I think "Helix" is a good album but it doesn´t reach the same level as "Maximalism" from 2016 and the releases before that one.
