Imagine Dragons aren´t taking any chances, it feels like they´re doing just what their label wants them to sound like. And that is to continue writing hit songs in the same formula as their latest album "Evolve" from 2017, because their 4th studio album "Origins" is a twin-sister to "Evolve". There are some obvious chartclimbers on the new album such as "Natural", "Zero", "Bad liar" and "Cool out" and I also like the upbeat "Only" very much, but as entire album, "Origins" doesn´t impress the same way as their first three albums.
I´m not a fool to believe that "Origins" won´t sell because Imagine Dragons has loyal fans that will purchase it, just like I did but they have to re-negotiate their record deal with label where the band will take a step away from the safe platform they´re standing on now. And instead head into new frontiers soundwise. I know this band can do it, they have done it before and can do it again. This will only lead them into a dead end street.
