Review

ESCLAVITUD is a band hailing from Tenerife, Spain, which is one of the Canary Islands. They have actually released three albums, although the remaining two are sung in Spanish. I am focusing on this album which has English lyrics.

The band is fronted by MARC QUEE, about whom I have written earlier on this site, since he released a solo album in 2017. This Swedish born guy sings really good on this album, where the style is more NWOBHM oriented with fine biting guitars. The other members are: RAMÓN CEBRIÁN (bass), MAURO MARTIN (drums) and ALEX GUERRA (guitar).

ESCLAVITUD have found a good variation in their songs. They know how to create both soft passages and heavy and guitar riffing moments, to catch the listener’s attention. My personal favorurites are “How I wish” (which really has everything from softness to fast energetic parts) and “To say goodbye” which has some surprisingly moodful moments – but also uptempo parts.

This is a sure recommendation to all NWOHBM fans, and be sure to check out the other albums as well. (Listenable at for example Spotify.)
