Review

Second single out from the new and highly interesting Swedish duo TOO FAR FOR GRACIE. The two former TIME GALLERY dudes present “Time off”, a song about getting to be by yourself for a day.

PATRIK AHLM and FREDRIK BERGENGREN are great at finding cool hooks in the arrangements. Already when the song begins, you are caught by the guitar and drum beat. The verse could have been on later JOHNNY HATES JAZZ recordings, and there is a very nice “lift off” when the bridge changes into the chorus.

Just like the previous single, “Rejected”, I find quite clear DURAN DURAN vibes. TOO FAR FOR GRACIE have found a truly cool mix of melodic rock and light AOR. I really like this band, and the guys will find fans in all fields from wetscoast pop to melodic hard rock.
