Artist discography

Having sung in bands like RAINBOW, MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, IMPELLITTERI and ALCATRAZZ there is almost no need to introduce legendary vocalist GRAHAM BONNET. This is a DVD from 2017, recorded in Tokyo.

16 songs are included and they are chosen quite wisely from all bands above except Alcatrazz, which was included during another tour in Japan, I think it was even the same year. And of course there are some songs taken from the Bonnet solo catalogue and the GRAHAM BONNET BAND.

I’d say even the new material of the Bonnet Band (latest album, “The book”) is high quality stuff. Nothing new under the sun, but on the other hand that’s not we’re after in this genre.

We get the Rainbow songs “Eyes of the world” (opening track), “Love’s no friend”, “Since you’ve been gone” and “All night long”. It still amazes me what a great song “Since…” is!

The MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP is imminently present with the tracks “Dancer”, “Samurai”, “Desert song” and of course “Assault attack”.

From the solo years Graham has chosen “Night games” which is one of the best songs of this live show, as well as “S.O.S.” and “Lost in Hollywood”. The Graham Bonnet Band songs are “California air”, ”Into the night”, “Rider” and “The crying chair” – the latter in an alternate lyric version. If I’ve got it right there’s only “Stand in line” from the IMPELLITTERI catalogue.

The band consists of keyboard player JIMMY WALDO (from the ALCATRAZZ years, and well-known from NEW ENGLAND), CONRADO PESINATO on guitar, BETH-AMI HEAVENSTONE on bass and MARK BENQUCHEA on drums. The band performs nice harmony vocals, even though I do not know if they are truly real. As for Bonnet himself he sings really well, in contrary to what I’ve heard from others who have attended to Bonnet concerts over the past decade. I want to believe he actually IS singing that well on this live DVD… Anyhow, a good DVD with lots of solid and classic rock music.
