Devils is the debut extended play from Left IV Dead of San Antonio,Texas.
With catchy riffs and chug like breakdowns everybody will take something away from this death metal infused pie. Through out Devils journey the listener can hear the bands influences pretty clearly which range from metalcore to deathcore.
The highlights worth mentioning are 'At Death's Door' and 'The Witch'. I feel both of these tracks really show what Left IV Dead is capable of.
'At Death's Door' grabs you by the balls and fills your eardrums with that classic deathcore punch. I totally dig the different guitar breakdown styles and the way things are presented with such balance. It's bad ass.
What I like about 'The Witch' is how the lyrics pay homage to The Salem Witch Trails and what all happened back in those days.
'Enchantress','Devils','Trapped In Line' and 'Contradictions' all had the same thing kinda going for them. I felt they lacked variety and sounded very similar but weren't bad at all. The songs just weren't my cup of tea to be honest.
Overall the bread winner in my opinion of Devils is the guitar work. Maybe I'm biased beings I'm a guitar player myself but I found the vocals generic and to be expected of the genre. Still not a bad debut but if you ask me there is definitely some hits and misses that are featured.
