?It?s been a long time since I heard rock and roll that I liked. This is a hit!? Those were the words of Grammy-nominated artist/producer/songwriter Wyclef Jean when he heard the music of Next Big Thing.
Well, this is good but it?s not the Next big thing if you know what I mean, this New York City quartet plays something between britpop-garagerock and Cheap Trick kinda powerpop.
The production is too messy for me to like it but they have a positive sound so it?s never boring to get through the whole album but singer Shawn Moynihan
has a weak voice that doesn?t hold in their more rocking moments.
"I think I definitely love you" features a great string arrangement and I would love to hear that song on a major label production.
