Review

Laneslide is a new fantastic AOR project but together by Italian songwriter / producer / guitarist Bruno Kraler (Bruno Rock). The line-up of the band is made up by the superb vocalist Frank Vestry (Marcello / Vestry, Last Temptation), Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline, Edge Of Forever), John Billings (Rick Springfield) and Dominik Hulshorst (ex-Bonfire) . Lane Slide delivers tougher AOR with a big sound and filled with catchy hook lines. Frank Vestry singing outstanding and it´s well produced. First song Flying High sets the standard for this album. This is a brilliant up-tempo rocker filled with strong riffs and a catchy melodic chorus. Hangin'Out Here is another winner with an awesome chorus with strong harmonies. On You Can Make It it´s filled with layers of keyboards and the chorus is damn catchy.
The AOR party rocker Dancing Girls is great with lovely keyboard sounds. They do a good rockier cover of Laura Branigans Self Control. The best song on the album is the awesome Look The Other Way and AORsters H.e.a.t would not have done it much better. This is AOR by numbers with a huge sing-a-long chorus with layers of keyboards. They are not a weak song on the album and this is a must for fans of tougher AOR. A big happy surprise and I recommend this highly. So get yourself a copy of this great AOR-projcet.

Did you know that?

Sahaj of RA held the record for longest single note, for a male vocalist, in a song, having held a high B for 24 seconds. He was overtaken by Jan Werner Danielsen of Norway with 28 seconds in his live version of Nella Fantasia. This record breaker can be heard on Ra´s live album, Raw, on the track "Skorn". Sahaj Ticotin overtook the previous record of 20.2 seconds which was held by Morten Harket, the lead singer of a-ha, in the song, "Summer Moved On".
