Review

We were many who thought that Neal has recorded his last albums in 2002 (Spocks Beard-Snow and Transatlantic-Bridge across forever) coz he made the announcement that he?s found God in his life and that he was leaving his both bands.
But to many fans joy,Neal returned to music and began all over spiritually and emotionally with "Testimony" in 2003,a 2 cd set that has some fine moments but it?s too pianobased and far from the fine years in Spocks Beard.
Now I?m happy to say that his 4th solo album "One" is a grand design of progressive rock in it?s best shape and form, when his first 2 solo albums were modern based pop with prog influences - this new one sounds more like a true Spocks Beard record and this is how I want Morse to sound like.

Once again he?s working with drummer Mike Portnoy from the time in Transatlantic, other musicians are Phil Keaggy-Guitar and Randy George-Bass.
I just love the vocal arrangement in "Author of confusion" and the mighty progressive anthem "The creation" is a wetdream for any fan of Genesis,Kansas and Spocks Beard ofcourse.
It?s easy to fall in love with such a masterpiece like "The separated man" that starts out in a majestic way just to slow down where you can catch your breath before the long epic ending Gentle Giant meeting Yes crescendo.

In the good old days when bands released 2 LP?s with the same running time of 1 CD these days,Neal Morse new album would?ve been a classic 2 LP set with 2 songs on each side coz it contains 8 tracks within 80 excellent minutes !
Music from the heart to the heart, ladies and gents here?s another timeless effort from Neal Morse.
I thank you!
