Novak is a new Swedish AOR-sensation that will release his debut soloalbum next week. Andreas Novak is not a newcomer in no way because he has sang on two albums with Mind?s Eye called Waiting For The Tide and A Work Of Art. He has also participating in the swedish TV-show Fame Factory 2003 that has brought us Anders Johansson. Novak has recorded this album with his friend Daniel Flores from Mind?s Eye that has played drums, keyboards and produced the album. The production is top-notch and the sound is perfect. They have got some help from guest on the album such as Tommy Denander, Benny Janson(Tears Of Anger), Kristian Niemann(Therion), Johnny Ohlin(Nation) on guitars and couple of others.
I would compare the sound of this album to some big names like Cliff Magness(not as good though), Mark Spiro, Radioactive and mixed with an inch of Kharma. This may not be as good as the menitoned names but I can assure you that Novak is not far behind.
If you own the MTM Music Compilation Vol.10 then you already have heard the fantastic Save Me that is a brilliant AOR-track. Their plenty of more goodies on Forever Endeavour. Just listen to the titletrack that reminds of Kharma with lovely keyboards and a pompish sound, excellent stuff. Another Woman is a duet with former Fame Factory student Martina Edoff and is a beautiful ballad were Martina steals the show, just listen to that girl how she can sing. A ballad that could have been written by Cliff Magness for sure. By Your Side is pure AOR-heaven with superb melodies, harmonies mixed with strong hooklines and it reminds of Giant.
The Radioactive sounding rocker Back To The Free World has nice riffs and is filled with catchy hooklines. There is couple of fillers at the end of the album that don?t hold the same strong level as the rest of the album. Don?t make that scare you off because there is lots of fantastic AOR on this album. Novak has a strong AOR voice with great power and feeling that suits this album just right.
This is a perfect AOR album with a great balanced mix of tougher and soft songs with strong quality. Hats off for Novak for making such a splendid debut album and I hope we can hear more from this talented guy.
