Review

Zakk Wylde is a workaholic when it comes to playing and recording albums whether it?s his music or with others, the new album with his band Black Label Society is the 17th
album he?s involved in as bandmember since the "No rest for the wicked" with Ozzy in 1988.
"Mafia" is the first album to be released by his new label Artemis records, the new album contains 14 new songs with Zakk Wylde?s mammoth-heavy axework and his bluesy southern influenced voice.
I think the production reminds a bit of Ozzy?s "No more tears" but the music is more like a mix of Black Sabbath (the Ozzy
era),Pride and Glory (his southern based rock band) and Zakk?s typical riffz on all the Ozzy efforts.
This is hard rock with a big H!
I think he does the right thing with doing a Bruce Springsteen influenced song with "In this river" in the middle of the album to
set the balance right between all the killer riffz,my favorite is "What?s in you"..........play that mutharocker before any song with Evanescence and see who?s the baddest and hardest rocker around!
