Review

Taking its third album title from The Exorcist, Scottish quartet Aereogramme´s fourth recording (second for Sonic Unyon) "My Heart Has a Wish That You Would Not Go" was released in January 2007. The long awaited release was due to Singer Craig B losing his singing voice for about six months. Well when theres bad always come good. This album is definately an album to lookout for. This band is one of the most underrated groups out there. They create atmospheric, ambient sounds with huge production and wide open airy drums.

Craig´s vocals are a delight on this record. So soulful, they just float above the music. If you want to hear real emotion and soul this record is for you. so many bands are trying to capitalize on the folk soul music that just doesn´t cut it and comes off as a knock off. This is a real band with talent and emotion. This album soars above and beyond your mind.

My favorite on the record is the tune "Exits." Very Death Cab for Cutie but with a twist. Starting off with an acoustic guitar and coming in with a pounding bass drums and very well produced drums. The song is carried by the vocals and airy drums with the acoustic guitars. The end of the song just builds to a high climax of beauty and passionate music.

Other favorites on the album include, "Nightmares" which is the perfect title for this one. Starting off with the pounding orchestration and sounds like it would actually be the soundtrack to a nightmare. "You´re Always Welcome" is another one of my favorites and a great closer to the record with the mostly acoustic sound. Now when i say acoustic its surrounded by atmosphere and orchestrations that blend so well to take it to that ambient sky. "Trenches" and "The running Man" are also great songs included on this fine album.

This is definitely an album for Indie rock fans. Very ambient rock tracks and huge drums. Craig´s voice very delicate and moody yet very very melodic. Other members that make up the group are Iain Cook (Guitar, Programming), Campbell McNeil (Bass), Martin Scott (Drums). This album you can fall asleep to or just put on and it will catch your attention. One of my personal favorites is the track "Exits". For fans of Death Cab For Cutie and Dredg.
