Scottish duo Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill hits the target with their 15th studioalbum! It?s a strong album where these guys have found their way back on the right track. I wasn?t too fond of their 2 latest releases,"Neapolis" which were too sleepy and the cover album "Neon lights" didn?t feel like a real Simple Minds record. I have been a big fan of this band ever since I heard the fantastic "New gold dream" in their glory days of synthesizer pop! But the best years were between ?89 and ?95 with the splendid works of "Street fighting years", "Real life" and "Good news from the next world". Now on their new one they have taken a step back to these great years, just listen to "New sunshine morning" and get carried away to the magic of that song. "Disconnected" is another tune that could?ve been written in the early 80?s and hearing that one makes me put on a big smile on my face. They have a special unique sound that no other band gets close to.
