Review

The powerful and mighty singer Jorn are back with a new solo album and I have to say that Spirit Black is his strongest solo album to date that is filled with classic metal songs with crunchy guitars, huge sound and top vocal performance.
The production is damn tight and powerful and the man behind it is the great Tommy Hansen.
So if youre into his The Duke and Lonely Are The Brave albums, then this album is for you because this is a mixture of them.

Yes, we’re talking Dio, Pretty Maids and Black Sabbath sounding songs and Jorn´s Coverdale/Ronnie James Dio sounding voice just makes it sound even more like the mentioned bands.
You get 9 hammering metal rockers that shouts out from the speakers and try to sit still to the riff strong songs.
Road of The Cross is heavy but yet very melodic with amazing riffs and a powerful chorus a´la Pretty Maids.
The title track is a strong one.
City Inbetween is different from rest of the album and its a mid-tempo song without the heavy riffs and power.
The chorus is great with wonderful melodies.

The pounding Rock ´n Roll Angel is the highlight of the album. This is one of the best songs Jorn has done, a pure melodic hardrock song in the veins of TNT and Pretty Maids with fantastic hooks and riffs that runs to a powerful chorus. Classy song.
Another song that rocks big time is World Gone Mad, it’s a fantastic rocker with awesome guitars and melodies with an outstanding chorus. Spirit Black is a great album and Jorn shows that he’s ready to play with the big boys now. So if you’re a fan of Jorn, then this new album won’t change that because Jorn knows how to please his fans and this time he calls it Spirit Black.
