There are certain things a loved about the debut from OneRepublic and certain things that I didnt care for. I loved the rock side of the group. I liked "Apologize" but wasnt the biggest fan of it after it was overplayed and overplayed. The songs I loved and hope the band would capitalize on were "Stop and Stare" and "Prodigal." the debut had many songs that i believe were filler, but the singles and the better songs made the album, so it  didnĀ“t really matter. I have waited a long time, like many others for the sophomore album, "Waking Up," released November 17.

From the sounds of the first single "All The Right Moves" it seems as if the band is looking to the more electronic beat and upping their vocal and musical hooks. This is a great lead off song that should rip through the charts. "Made For You" opens the album and is a good song, not the best I have heard from the band but not a great start to the album. "Secrets" displays an eerie vibe with sampled violins that spiral into a pounding drum Tedder sing along chorus, that I believe could be a great single. "All This Time" is a great slower track on the album that showcases the vocal power and the ambient side of the band. "Good Life" has to be my favorite song on the album. Full of beats and the hooks that will be filled in your head for days. The whistling rhythms will also keep having you hit repeat. This song reminded me of a that Leona Lewis song "Bleeding Love." Which I guess makes sense because later I found out Tedder wrote that song for Leona Lewis. The guy is a hit maker and theres no doubt about that. the last few tunes on the album are good songs, filler in my opinion, but end the album well. the first half is full on hits.

The majority of the album is full of rock/hip hop/R&B rhythms that they really only showed on "Apologize" on the debut. I was hoping for more of the rock side of the band, but they need to make money and capitalize on the hits, which is understandable. you cant deny the hits that are coming out of this album. The definitely went the more radio pop side on this release but you cant really blame them because of the huge hits from the first album. There are certainly more albums to come from this young band, so I can wait.
