Mayday Parade is back with the new album, and this time without guitarist, singer and band leader Jason Lancaster who chose to leave the band a while back. Remaining as vocalist is Derek Sanders who shared the vocals with Jason earlier, so much of the character of Mayday Parades music has been lost because of this. The EMO vibes are more or less completely gone now and the band has instead taken a step towards a more purely modern rock sound with a little taste of guitardriven pop-punk "in the cocktail”. It is nicely done, although there isn’t the slightest own sound on the disc. The production is made by David Bendeth and yes… of course it is perfectly done. But with a nerve? No... Now it´s a nice production and package, delivered by a major recordcompany. And then you know what you’ll get... Some “radioballads” and some nice radio-tracks done with co-writers. You gotta have the radio with you... you know...

Nothing wrong with some radio friendly music but I wished more artists and producers took more risks in the business today but it seems noone dares these days.

Par, what is wrong with some smooth radio music? The band or the producer are not taking any risks, and why should they? So Jason Lancaster is gone, and so what? What did he have to offer that was so special? Put it in your car stereo or your ipod, cranck it up and forget about analyzing it, you'v been in this business long enough to no that this was not ment for more than adolescent fun, partying and easy living. I want to thank Mayday Parade and David Bendeth for delivering this fine record. We need more music like this to cheer us up heading into a long cold winter. Keep it Comming!
