PC 69 celebrate their 20th anniversary with the double CD/DVD Live in Karlsruhe. I have seen them live twice on a big stage and a smaller venue and I must say that this is a band that sounds best on a bigger stage. So it’s great to listen to this live album and I will for sure check out DVD when it’s released. After 10 albums and the latest In10sity in 2007with David Readman that has been in the band since 1994, they got a great front man. Andy Deris, now in Helloween was their original singer and released 3 albums with them and they have got 7 songs from his era and I think they have got the best ones with him in the set-list. Rest is taken from 1997 and forward plus we get a cover medley with So Lonely (The Police) and No Woman No Cry (Bob Marley) that they could have left out. Otherwise you get to hear rockers like Livin My Life For You, Seas Of Madness, Keep Your Eyes On The Twisted (absolutely fantastic rocker), The Spirit (one of my favourite songs from the newer era), Break The Silence, Do You Like It Like That, Lost In Illusion and many more. But why did the play One Step Into Paradise twice and an acoustic version instead of doing it more like the original version that I think should have sounded a lot better. One of their better songs should have deserved a better destiny on this live album and this and the cover medley are the two things I have to complain on, otherwise a very good live album and the band sounds tight with Dennis Ward, Alfred Koffler and Kosta Zafirou as the original members. The sound is very impressive but maybe not so strange because Dennis Ward is involved. So don’t miss this great live album by a fantastic band. You also get a bonus track called Better Days that is an average acoustic song.
