Review

To listen to the Gin Blossoms fifth album No Chocolate Cake is like traveling back to the mid 90's. It sounds very much like their first records New Miserable Experience and Congratulations I'm Sorry with simple songs in a straightforward format. No large, modern production has been put on so it's very organic and alive. Like this a lot where the band delivers a perfect live feeling where the songs are gaining all space.
When it comes to songs, No Chocolate Cake is much better than expected and we think it is in the same class as their best moments in the 90's. Tracks like "Miss Disarray", "Do not Change for Me" and "Somewhere Tonight" are favorites, but overall there are no boring tracks. Simply check up if you’re into "feel good" Modern Rock!

Did you know that?

Duran Duran — The band played at Birmingham´s Barberella´s nightclub so took their name from the villain of the cult Science Fiction film Barbarella, Dr. Durand-Durand.
